Thousands Lost Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Weather Systems
Approximately 25,000 households in south-east Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the area, generating powerful gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Impact
Residents witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that different parts across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Victorian Weather Woes

Emergency response teams handled over five hundred emergency reports across the area, mostly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on Sunday, over twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
The following day was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across various areas of both states.
Health Warning
Medical authorities warned that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
