A jet carrying the US defense secretary was required to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official statement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane landed following standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, such as Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer commented in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident is not the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a senior official has experienced equipment failures.
